Ready for Launch – Spring 2019

As recently announced, there are changes coming to the site, and we have already begun to implement some of them. To begin with, you may notice some content disappearing, and redirections taking you back to the home page. This is because this content has been deleted from the site. In all cases of syndicated content, you will now be redirected off site, to the page from which the content originally came. This is just the start, in the weeks ahead most of the content on this site will redirect you to a new site that we’re calling, “The Lost Science Collection”.

In order to do the material collection justice, we’ve decided to build a site dedicated solely to hosting this payload of information about alternative theories, forgotten models, and (needed more desperately with each passing day) plain, common sense understandings of how the world works. Whether you’ve just discovered us, or followed along for the last five years, you’re going to like what we have in store for you with the new site.

WordPress was never very good at organizing the information in this collection. It allows us to identify the “format” of a post as a video, audio, image, gallery, quote, or link, but that’s almost useless, as it provides no structure for these things. We’ve tried using plugins with mixed success, but ultimately just using a combination of WordPress categories and theme formats has proven to be the easiest and most useful.

This is all about to change, as we’ve engineered a database to describe and hold every piece of information in this collection, including references to the locations of the information on the web. This way we maintain references back to the source, including attribution information, we can remember who and where it came from, you can discover the source for yourself, and the creator of the resource gets proper recognition.

Here are two screenshots from the new app, showing pages from the Books collection:

We are currently in the process of migrating the entire collection to the new site, and expanded upon it with new materials. We will first release the new site as a private beta, then a public beta, with final release coming once the quirks and bugs are worked out. This initial release will house only the collections you find here, namely videos, books, images, and links. We are also building a curated patent database, and, due to their unique format, giving periodicals their own place. Once these “collections in the raw” are delivered, some interesting storytelling components are in the works, and then finally, we’re building a network of community sites to link people together in the physical world for research, education, and collaboration.

We have big plans for the 2019-2020 time frame, there are numerous opportunities for collaboration and interaction opening up, including physical locations. Expect to see more logging here as we document our progress on these and the other projects we’re developing, we’ll also be sharing more of ourselves, our philosophy, and the way we work in the world. We’ll be using this site to promote the collectives and a new concept in eco-villages to provide sustainable environments for the humans that occupy the villages, in addition to the ecology of the surrounding environment in which the villages site. We’ll be writing extensively about these topics and more, so if any of this sounds interesting, leave us a comment below, and tell us what you think!
